Project 013 - Transparent Series
GLAS, mini GLAS & mini GLAS Extreme
For a long time, I had the vision of building a completely transparent PC – a machine where every part is visible, yet still highly functional and engineered for airflow. The challenge was not just transparency, but also to keep the case extremely small while integrating massive 200 mm fans for cooling.
From this idea, two projects were born: Glas and Miniglas. Both are currently in development and exist as 3D-printed prototypes. They represent a step into experimental PC design, where form and function meet in the most minimal yet striking way.
If the thermal simulations and real-world testing prove successful, the final version will be manufactured in aluminum with true glass panels. Both systems will also feature subtle RGB lighting combined with tinted glass – elegant, futuristic, and unlike any other PC on the market..
Project GLAS
Glas is the larger of the two concepts, though still extremely compact. It accommodates a 325 mm long GPU and is cooled by two 200 mm fans – one at the top and one at the bottom. Power comes from an SFX power supply, keeping the build efficient and compatible with high-end hardware.
The side panels are fully transparent glass, turning the PC into a showcase where every component is visible. With its balanced airflow design, Glas is engineered to remain cool even under heavy load, while maintaining a unique aesthetic rarely seen in compact builds.
Project mini GLAS
Miniglas is the smaller sibling of Glas – an even more radical approach to minimalism. Here, only a single 200 mm fan is placed on top, supported by an ultra-compact Flex-ATX power supply.
The form factor pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in PC design. Like Glas, it will feature glass side panels, discreet RGB lighting, and an option for tinted glass to create a refined, futuristic look. Despite its tiny volume, Miniglas is engineered through CAD simulations to ensure manageable thermals and stable performance.
Project mini GLAS extreme
mini GLAS extreme is the evolution of my original Mini Glas concept – a fully transparent small form factor build that combines minimal size with maximum airflow. Every panel is made from clear material, giving the case a striking showcase look while keeping the volume extremely compact.
Compared to the first version, this extreme edition has been massively improved:
200 mm top fan for powerful but quiet cooling
GPU support up to 210 mm (dual-slot)
CPU cooler clearance up to 120 mm
Optimized internal layout for balance between performance and size
Despite its ultra-small footprint, mini GLAS extreme offers enough room for powerful hardware without compromising thermals. The design ensures that even in such a minimal form, airflow remains efficient and stable.
The only missing parts at this stage are the power button and the front I/O module, which will be integrated in the final version.
mini GLAS extreme represents my ongoing effort to push the boundaries of compact, transparent PC design – where every component is visible, yet the system remains fully functional and cool.
